The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday said that projects are part of the city’s master plan and are aimed to address future traffic needs of the city by expanding and extending its road infrastructure.
The PC-Is which have been submitted include an RS1.485 billion plan to construct an interchange at Kashmir Highway on the intersection of Eleventh Avenue. Another PC-I worth Rs1.485 billion for constructing an interchange at Kashmir Highway at the intersection of Twelfth Avenue, PC-I worth Rs11 billion for the construction of Tenth Avenue — complete with an interchange and underpasses from IJP Road to Khayaban-e-Iqbal, a PC-I worth Rs2.653 billion for constructing an interchange at the intersection of Ninth Avenue with IJP Road and a PC-I worth Rs1.924 billion for a grade-separated facility at the intersection of Seventh Avenue with Kashmir Highway.
Moreover, a PC-I worth Rs612.25 million has been approved for the development of Blue Areas in Sectors F-9 and G-9.
Once these interchanges are built, the northern and southern sides of the city will be connected via a signal-free corridor.
