Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently in England for their last ever Royal engagements. As the couple prepares for a new, quieter life in Canada, let’s take a look back at their tumultuous journey. From being set up through a blind date to #Megxit, here are all the ups and downs of Harry and Meghan’s lives over the past few years.

July 2016: Harry and Meghan meet through a friend who set them up on a blind date. A few weeks after, they jet off to Botswana, where their relationship blossoms.

October 2016: The Sunday Express reports the Prince is officially dating the American actor.

November 2016: Soon after, Kensington Palace confirms their relationship. In the statement, Harry slams the press and public for harassing Meghan. Prince William steps up to show his baby brother some support.

December 2016: Paparazzi capture the two lovebirds in the same frame for the first time. The Sun shared pictures of them holding hands.

August 2017: Fast forward half a year and it is Meghan's birthday month, leading to speculations that Harry has popped the big question. Tabloids go crazy over the possibility of the duo having gotten engaged. Once again, Harry and Meghan jet off to Africa for a romantic getaway.

 November 2017: After months of speculation, Meghan and Harry announced that they really are engaged by stepping out together and announcing that a Royal wedding is on its way.

 May 2018: Behold, the wedding of the decade! Harry and Meghan exchanged their wows at Windsor Castle among family, friends and the whole world watching.

October 2018: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announce that they are expecting their first child. The announcement comes just before they leave for a tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji.

 November 2018: The Palace announces Meghan and Harry are moving into the Frogmore Cottage, a house on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

 May 2019: The couple welcomes their son on May 6, whom they named Archie Harrison. They chose to go against giving him the "prince" title.

October 2019: Harry and Meghan take part in an ITV documentary during their South African tour and open up about the criticism they have faced from the media. Harry sparks speculation of him and William having grown apart. Meanwhile, Meghan struggles with the media. She confesses she is “not okay,” prompting Harry to promise that he will no longer be a "silent witness" to Meghan's "private suffering."

Soon after, Meghan files claims against Associated Newspapers "over the intrusive and unlawful publication of a private letter written by the Duchess of Sussex, which is part of a campaign by this media group to publish false and deliberately derogatory stories about her, as well as her husband."

December 2019: Meghan and Harry release a Christmas card featuring baby Archie. The adorable image, taken by Meghan’s close friends Janina Gavankar, goes viral.

January 2020: The Royals announce their decision to give up their roles as “senior” members of the Royal family. They take to Instagram to break the news that they will be settling in Canada, creating a worldwide frenzy.

March 2020: Meghan and Harry joined the Queen, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles and other Royal family members to attend the Commonwealth Service. This is all part of their final tour as Royals.
