Lahore-based designer Saira Rizwan decodes her personal style for us. From maintaining her fitness to experimenting with silhouettes, Saira shares it all

Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

I would say it is not very athletic but definitely fit. I try to make an effort to not gain any extra weight.

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

I think I have become physically stronger and in better shape over all while maintaining my weight.

How has your style changed over the years?

Over the years I have become more open to experimenting with style and different cuts.

In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?

Dress to your size. You body type in terms of weight keeps changing so do not try to fit into something which is not your size, it really is not flattering.

Which silhouettes suit your body the most?

I like straight lines but as I mentioned earlier I like experimenting so I choose silhouettes that compliment my body type, it could be a sari, a pleated dress or a ball gown. I think I can carry it all now.

What does it mean to have style?

Style is an expression of oneself, for me it’s a manner of living.

Any fashion statement or trend you want back in 2020?

I am quite intrigued by 60’s and 70’s fashion trends and Audrey Hepburn style from the 60s would be something interesting to see.
