Pakistan’s top badminton player Mahoor Shahzad has broken into badminton’s top 140 in the international rankings to become the first female from the country to do so.
Mahoor recently participated in the Kenya International Badminton Series 2020 and won silver in the doubles event with her partner Palwasha Bashir. They lost the final which took place at the Shree Swaminarayan Academy, Mombasa, Kenya.
“Alhumdulillah, I have achieved my career best ranking of 138 in the world. Not only is this a personal best, but a moment of pride for our country as this is the first time a Pakistani female badminton player is part of the Top 140,” tweeted Mahoor. “As always, I am deeply humbled by your support.”
Meanwhile, the duo of Mahoor and Palwasha also achieved career best rankings of 149 after winning silver in Kenya.
