PESHAWAR: Opposition in the provincial assembly has said it would continue to protest during the house proceedings until their demands are fulfilled.

A senior leader of opposition told The Express Tribune requesting anonymity that they have rejected the committee formed by the government for dialogues with them.

The lawmaker said protest was their only choice as the government was not sincere in addressing their demands. Protest for fulfillment of their genuine demands was a constitutional right and nobody could take it, he added.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly would meet on March 16.

The opposition lawmakers used a novel way for recording protest during the March 2 session by banging their desks with hammers and blowing whistles.  Following which, the K-P Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani adjourned the session.
