CDD conducts war drill at girls college 

Rehearsal helped check preparedness of the institutions and developing liaison between them in an emergency situation

JHELUM: Civil Defense Department (CDD) organised a mock war drill at Government Girls Degree College Civil Lines on Tuesday. The Jhelum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saif Anwer Jappa attended the event as the chief guest accompanied by other district officials.

The college students who were assisted by different government institutions performed exercises including administering first aid to injured, fire-fighting, evacuating people from a dilapidated building and restoration of electricity and gas supply system.

The teams of Rescue 1122, health department, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, Jhelum Municipal Corporation and other institutions also took part in the drill. The rehearsal helped check preparedness of the institutions and developing liaison between them in an emergency situation.
