Shah tells Mahar to control street crime

Newly appointed inspector general Sindh Mushtaq Mahar took charge on Monday and was instructed by the provincial chief minister to improve the law and order situation in the province.

Mahar called on Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and sought his permission to join his new appointment. The chief minister officially allowed him on his posting order and gave him the necessary directives to improve overall law and order in the province.

Paying tribute to the sacrifices rendered by police personnel, the chief executive of the province said crimes such as murders and kidnapping for ransom are again emerging in the province.

“I want you to make the police force more responsive and alert in curbing emerging criminal activities, including street crime in the city,” said Shah.

The provincial chief executive further assured the new top police official of the province that the government would support the force in the maintenance of law and order.

Mahar assured the chief minister that he would be working with dedication for restoration of law and order.
