Fans of Lizzie Mcguire have a long wait ahead of them.

Following Variety's report that the show-runner Terri Minsky had been removed from her role, the future of the show seemed hazy. Now, star of the show Hilary Duff has posted a statement asking for a change in plans to make sure the revival goes through as planned - she wants it to be moved from Disney Plus to Hulu.

"I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30 year old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating. It’s important to me that just as her experiences as a preteen/teenager navigating life were authentic, her next chapters are equally as real and relatable," wrote Hilary in a post on Instagram.

The series seems to have been shelved for the time being, atleast until the people associated are allowed to shape it how they want. "It would be a dream if Disney would let us move the show to Hulu, if they were interested, and I could bring this beloved character to life again," asked Hilary.

The revival had been green lit by execs before the differences in opinion arose. Hilary and Terri wanted a more adult version of Lizzie that would sit better with Hilary's own experiences as a 30 year old, while Disney wanted a show that would appeal to kids and families similar to the original series.

According to sources, the studio giant was initially on board with Terri and Hilary's idea, but decided to move in a different direction after the first two episodes were completed.
