IGP reviews police performance

IGP says security plan in sensitive places, places of worship and educational institutions should be reviewed

Punjab Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastagir directed all RPOs and DPOs to submit all reports regarding action of police teams against professional criminals and anti-social elements.

The IGP added that the security plan in sensitive places, places of worship and educational institutions should be reviewed.

In this regard, Lodhran police took action against proclaimed offenders, court absconders, thieves, dacoits, drugs peddlers and holders of illegal weapons and achieved success, said Lodhran DPO.

He added that during the ongoing month, Lodhran police registered 361 cases whereas seven proclaimed offenders (PO) of Category A, 102 POs of Category B have been arrested. A total of 28 cases have been registered against aerial firing and illegal weapons holding whereas four Kalashnikovs, five guns, 18 pistols, a revolver and 81 bullets had been seized.
