Gwadar Sea Port: BHC to probe illegal allotments

QUETTA: Balochistan High Court Justice Mohammad Nur Meskanzai was appointed to investigate the illegal allotment of lands in Gwadar during the regime of General Pervez Musharraf. The judicial inquiry was launched following the directives of the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani during a Federal Cabinet meeting recently held in Quetta after irregularities in allotment of lands were recently discovered by officials. Former prime minister Shaukat Aziz was also stated to be involved in the corruption scandal. According to sources, the judicial inquiry will begin after a few days. Earlier, the government had to buy land in Gwadar for a development project from a private party, due to a scarcity of state-owned property.
