DIY: How to make strawberry masks for healthy skin

Not only are fruits good for our health, but many of them provide tons of benefits for the skin, especially the fruit of the season – strawberries. Now, we know strawberries are a huge favourite around the world for their tart goodness, but there’s one other way in which they’ve made their way to our hearts. They’re excellent for the skin!

Strawberries are rich in antioxidants, and carry astringent and anti-inflammatory properties. They also help to slow down the ageing process, treat burns and offer the best form of UV protection. Not just this, they’re also a source of salicylic acid, which is great to treat acne.

Here are 3 easy, DIY masks to add to your skincare routine to reap the maximum benefit of strawberries, as compiled by Pinkvilla.

1) Strawberries and cream

If you’re looking for help with acne and resulting blemishes, this mask is your best bet. Take some strawberries, mash them, and add pure fresh cream and one tablespoon of honey. Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for about ten minutes. You can use this mask daily for better results.

2)Strawberries and chocolate

This pack is ideal if you want to achieve soft and supple skin. In a bowl, mash strawberries with one tablespoon each of cocoa powder and honey. Mix it well and apply it on your face. Let it sit for 15 minutes and wash it off with warm water. Voila! You’ll love your smooth skin.

3) Strawberries and honey

Two powerful antioxidants work together to get rid of skin impurities thanks to this concoction. It’s simple - Mash a few strawberries with a fork to form a smooth paste. Add one tablespoon of honey and apply this mask for 15 minutes and wash it with warm water.
