Golf: Finland’s Granberg wins in Malaysia
closing round of six-under-par 66 to become only the second Finnish player to ever win on the Asian Tour
SHAH ALAM:
Rookie Joonas Granberg fired a breath-taking closing round of six-under-par 66 to become only the second Finnish player to ever win on the Asian Tour at the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters in Malaysia. Granberg, who set a new course record of 62 in the opening round of the tournament, edged out Thai teenager Panuphol Pittayarat by one crucial stroke with his 15-under-par 273 winning total at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club in Malaysia. The 24-year-old Finn also pocketed $60,902 as prize-money after winning the tournament.
