RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has decided to collect data of the Afghan nationals pursuing education in the province.

For this purpose, the Public Instruction Directorate has sent a letter along with a proforma to all the district education officers (DEOs) of Punjab.

The letter directed the DEOs to collect data of all Afghan nationals currently enrolled in educational institutions as well as in the madrassas or have passed out. The data collection would include the individual’s name, father’s name, enrollment date and address of their accommodation.

Meanwhile, the government also sent a letter to the deputy commissioners (DCs) of all 36 districts across the province. They were directed to collect and send the data of all Afghan nationals either living, employed or running businesses in Punjab for the past 25 years and to include the duration since they were living in Pakistan.
