Four women, among 80 drivers, race in second round of Cholistan Jeep Rally

Paragliding competitions,  musical night and fireworks also held

BAHAWALPUR: The second round of races of the 15th Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally continued with great enthusiasm on Saturday. The racers are competing in the stock category of vehicles.

There were 80 vehicles competing in the stock category, including four female racers.

In Cholistan, the district government organised various sports competitions, while motorcycle rallies were held for the first time at the jeep rally. Paragliding competitions were also held, whereas musical night and fireworks were staged on Saturday night.

Thousands of people came to watch the competition. On the second day of the Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally, stock category racers, including four women, raced on a 220-kilometre track.

Tushna Patel is defending her title among women drivers. The jeep rally route consisting of sand dunes, rocky terrain and dust are considered a difficult track by racers. According to racers, expertise, experience and strong vehicle are necessary to win a race.

The first paragliding competition also took place and was followed by a culture night and fireworks. The final race of the prepared category vehicles will be held today.
