ISLAMABAD:
The strife between two top women officers at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) has caused the closure of the College of Nursing.

The Pims College of Nursing Principal Ghazala Iqbal has been occupying the post for the past 15 years. She has not only refused to give charge to the new principal Iram Yaqoob, but even got the institution closed by sending wrong reports to the Ministry of National Health Services, Reforms and Coordination (MNHSRC), sources said.

They said that Iqbal was simultaneously enjoying two positions, Pims chief nursing superintendent as well as Nursing College principal.

The new principal Yaqoob got the promotion in BPS-19 recently, but she failed to take the charge of her new post, due to delaying tactics of Iqbal for the past two months.

Pims Nursing College, a national institution imparting training to some 150 nurses annually, has become the victim of the ego of its own head, sources said.
