Chief Secretary orders price control

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Secretary Captain (retd) Fazeel Asghar directed officials concerned to facilitate people by establishing cheap markets of daily use items across the province.

Addressing a high level meeting on price control and sale of unhealthy items on Friday, the CS said, “Federal government is working to stabilize commodity prices, a top priority of the government.”

During the meeting, the officials reviewed mechanism to control price hike and wheat procurement. Asghar added that wheat procurement will be ensured till Feb 17.

The CS also directed the authorities concerned to dispatch samples of food items available in markets to laboratory for checking the quality of the edibles and ensure action against sale of unhealthy items.

He urged the officials to conduct awareness seminars on price control and sale of blended goods in which associations, social workers and public representatives to be invited.

Additional Chief Secretary Hafiz Abdul Basit, Industries Secretary Salah Mohammad Nasir and other officials attended the meeting.
