Pollution: Awareness drive continues

EPD of the CDGL to persuade hospitals and laboratories to sort and dispose of hospital waste

LAHORE: An awareness drive launched by the Environment Protection Department of the City District Government of Lahore to persuade hospitals and laboratories to sort and dispose of hospital waste continued on Friday. District Officer Tariq Zaman said that the drive was meant to seek voluntary action by hospitals, laboratories and clinics to comply with EPD rules on disposal of waste. He said that posters and banners would be displayed at the hospitals and clinics to educate patients and their attendants about hazards of hospitals waste. Some internees from the Punjab University will also collaborate with the EPD staff during the drive, he added.
