After a decade of decadence in the realm of fashion, ace couturier Fahad Hussayn has announced that he will be shutting down his brand owing to bankruptcy.

In a lengthy, heartfelt Instagram post, the designer paid homage to his ten long years in the industry, during which he admittedly failed to learn the ropes of sustaining a business model.

"For as long as I can remember, art and fashion is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life," he captioned the post leading up to the announcement. "Spending more than a decade learning the crafts and building my brand to what I always  thought it should be, I completely failed to realise my biggest shortcoming - as an artist, I've struggles with business skills."

Having launched his last opulent collection Labyagawachi just a few months prior, the announcement comes as a surprise - the designer even showed at a fashion week that wrapped up in December 2019. Now, his brand's Instagram profile reads 'closed for business'.

"I thought with time and resources, I could make my vision come to life on my own, but sadly, not everything works out the way you want. Maybe I don't want to do business, I just want to keep on creating art," wrote Hussayn.

Citing events that "did not turn out in our favour", Hussayn finished that with a heavy heart, the brand would be "stepping down from business."

He closed his message with an apology saying, "My humble apologies for any mishandling on our part and thank you, once again, for the love, support and appreciation - goodbye."

And so, a decade of creating memorable fashion moments on and off the runway come to an end as a fashion industry staple for the past years steps down.
