Court extends Hamza’s remand

LAHORE: An accountability court on Friday issued orders to produce the opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz on February 14. The court also granted an extension of 14 days in his judicial remand.

During the court proceedings, defence lawyer filed an application to provide them the copies of record submitted by eye-witnesses. Defence Counsel also pleaded for provision of record from Lahore Development Authority and other departments in the case also.

The court after hearing arguments adjourned the hearing till next date- February 14. In another case in Chaudhry Sugar Mills, the judicial remand of Yousaf Abbass Sharif was also extended till February 14.

Police had made serious security arrangements. Heavy contingent of police including women police and Anti-Riot Force (ARF) were also deployed.
