KARACHI: A citizen shot and killed an alleged robber on Dalmia Road in the jurisdiction of Sharae Faisal Police Station in the early hours of Thursday. However, an accomplice of the robber managed to escape from the scene.

According to Sharae Faisal ASI Abdur Rehman, as the robbers were fleeing on a motorcycle after looting Kaleemullah, his brother, who was also present at the scene, took out his automatic 9mm pistol and fired seven shots at the robbers from the back, killing one of them.

The police shifted the deceased, who has not yet been identified, to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). According to a JPMC medico-legal officer, Dr Shiraz, the robber had been shot in the forehead between his eyebrows. ASI Rehman speculated that the robber may have looked back upon hearing the gunshots, thus sustaining the bullet wound in his forehead despite being attacked from behind.
