Railways: Leaders want Mehran Express back

Political, trade and religious circle leaders urged the government to restart the Mehran Express that used to travel between Karachi and Mirpurkhas. Leaders of the Mirpurkhas Chamber of Commerce, Jamaat-e-Islami, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Petrol Pump Dealers Association, Electronics and Mobiles Association asked President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Gilani and the federal railway minister, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, to restore the train service immediatly. The leaders said that corrupt officials have stopped up to 10 trains that used to run from Mirpurkhas to Hyderabad and Karachi including the Mehran Express.
