PPHI holds free medical camp in snow-affected areas

Free medical camps have been organised to cure diseases caused by severe weather

QUETTA: Free medical camp was held in the areas affected by rain and severe cold under People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) and Health Department of Wahsuk District on the directives of PPHI provincial Chief Executive Officer Aziz Ahmad Jamali.

Free medical camp was set up in heavy rains and cold-affected areas, in Union Council Garangh and Union Council Janghian. Washuk PPHI District Support Manager Dr Munir Ahmed Baloch, Washuk District Health Officer Dr Inayatullah Issazai and Medical Officer Man Mohan Lal inspected patients and provided free medicines and various tests, while paramedics also performed their duties.

During a one-day free medical camp in two union councils, more than 330 patients were checked, including men, women and children.

According to an official, "People from remote areas of Washuk district are at risk of various diseases due to severe rain and cold therefore treating patients on time will avoid diseases."

The official added the purpose of the camp in remote areas was to cooperate with the PPHI and the Health Department in order to ensure that poor people in these areas get effective health services. A PPHI official said, “Free medical camps have been organised to cure diseases caused by severe weather and facilitate people with free medicines and provide them basic testing service.”

“Through establishing the camp in severe weather, we tried to cure fever and halt spreading viral diseases through providing free treatment,” said the official.
