Lahore police chalks out security plan for T20

More than 10,000 police officers and officials will perform security duties including 17 SPs, 48 DSPs

LAHORE: Lahore police has chalked out a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming Pakistan-Bangladesh T-20 cricket series to be held in the provincial capital from January 24 onward at Qaddafi Stadium.

As per the security plan, more than 10,000 police officers and officials will perform security duties including 17 SPs, 48 DSPs, 134 Inspectors and 592 upper subordinates during the three matches of the series to ensure foolproof security of the players and spectators.

Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Operations Rai Babar Saeed, while giving details of the strategy, said that Lahore police has always played a pivotal role in restoring international cricket in Pakistan by providing maximum security to events.

He said that Lahore Police is all set to provide foolproof security to the visiting Bangladeshi as well as Pakistani cricket players.”
