FBR Acting Chairperson Nausheen Javed Amjad has taken notice of harassment by FBR field formations and regional tax offices (RTOs) and directed all chief commissioners to ensure that the traders were not coerced for installation of the POS systems.
In its directives released on Friday, the FBR observed that it had received several complaints from traders against use of force and foul language by FBR officials during their inspection visits. The shopkeepers and store owners also complained that FBR teams were coercing them to install the POS systems at their business establishments.
The acting FBR chief advised the regional authorities to desist from coercion and instead release soft letters and reminders to business establishments which have not yet installed the approved POS systems. She expressed hope that the issue would be resolved amicably while traders and shopkeepers will be assisted through all facilities and support available with FBR.
