CM takes practical steps to cut office expenditures

Previously, Rs62.9m was spent on repair of vehicles, only Rs42.4m was spent in 2017-18 for the same purpose

LAHORE: On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, steps are underway to curtail expenditures of the CM Office.

Previously, Rs62.9 million was spent on repair of vehicles of the CM Office in 2016-17 and Rs42.4 million was spent in 2017-18 for the same purpose.

However, only Rs29.3 million was spent in the tenure of the incumbent chief minister for the repair of vehicles during 2018-19.

Meanwhile, only Rs7.1 million has been spent on vehicles’ repair in the first six months of the current financial year.

Similarly, the Communication and Works department spent Rs23.6 million on repair and maintenance of CMO in 2016-17 and incurred an expenditure of Rs28.5 million in 2017-18 for the same purpose.

It spent Rs23 million in 2018-19 and incurred an expenditure of Rs5.4 million till January 2020 in the current financial year.
