ISLAMABAD: The ambassadors of Maldives, Italy and Brazil will be leaving Pakistan soon as they have completed their term. The diplomatic corps hosted a reception for them on Wednesday to bid farewell to their colleagues.

Ambassador of Maldives Ahmed Saleem spent an eventful tenure in Pakistan and achieved many milestones.

He contributed greatly towards cementing bilateral relations in all fiends.

Italian Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo was perhaps the only ambassador who was actively engaged with Pakistanis by using the microblogging website Twitter regularly.

Apart from holding several cultural and culinary events in Islamabad and elsewhere, Ambassador Pontecorvo and his spouse made hundreds of friends in Pakistan because of their benign and hospitable nature.

Brazilian Ambassador Claudio Lins, meanwhile, will be heading to Barbados for his new assignment in the Caribbean.
