When someone mentions spice mixes, Shan Foods masalas are the very first thing that comes in our minds. They have always been the pioneer of innovation, and with their perfect spice mixes, they manage to give foodies a bite of happiness every day. Their products are not only convenient, easy to prepare, but also deliver the traditional, authentic flavours and aroma that we simply cannot resist.

Breaking from the mundane clutter of food shows, Shan Foods took creativity to a whole new level in 2019 by introducing a much needed concept, Shan Kitchen. They unveiled a state-of-the-art in-house studio kitchen along with their ‘Real Taste. Real Stories.’ campaign.

Do you remember the time when social media went into a tizzy over the #UltimateCookoffChallenge between George Fulton and Shaniera Akram which was built on an exceptionally entertaining #UltimateShoppingChallenge video released last year?

Well, this was the first of the many inspiring stories that Shan Kitchen unraveled through the art of cooking. They roped in many renowned celebrities such as Saba Qamar, Ahmed Ali Butt, Minal Khan, Danish Ali, Sohai Ali Abro and Khalid Malik, who not only entertained the audience with their fun banter and sassy competitiveness, but also managed to make a connection with the audience by sharing some ‘Real stories’ of their own. Gradually, the platform became a sanctuary for food aficionados who could explore their real selves through the power of ‘Real taste” that Shan Foods relentlessly offers.

Soon enough, Shan Kitchen was able to mark their presence in the digital entertainment space. People nationwide loved it so much that Shan Foods decided to empower aspiring chefs by making their dream of cooking professionally come true. Shan Kitchen gave home cooks an opportunity of a lifetime! They came up with a one of its kind Cook-Off challenge, where diversified home cooks got candid with the host, George Fulton and shared their journey, while competing for the ultimate reward.

The ultimate Shan Kitchen's Real People Cook-Off challenge:

After an extensive round of trials and interviews, six cooks were given the chance to serve up a culinary masterpiece that they had to craft in 50 minutes. All three episodes had a fun vibe; the chemistry and competitiveness of each chef had the perfect element of spice that is rooted in the various delicacies of the sub-continent food scene. Out of the six aspiring chefs, only three lucky winners got the chance to feature their signature dishes at Karachi Eat 2020 at Shan Kitchen’s official kiosk.

Karachi Eat, the biggest food festival of Pakistan brings numerous eateries together on a single platform that every restaurateur wants to be a part of. The three winners, Fatima Huzaifa, Sidra Shahid and Ayesha Sarwar were given the life-changing opportunity to win the hearts of foodies by serving some of their trailblazing fusion dishes cooked with the exquisite Shan Foods products.

Being a Biryani lover, like all Karachiites, we couldn’t resist Fatima’s Smokey Butter Chicken Biryani.  It hit the right notes and the Butter Chicken twist was definitely working for us in all the ways! Well, Ayesha’s Turkish Kababs were indeed calling us, but being a ramen lover, we just couldn’t stop devouring on the yummy Thai Soup Noodles that felt like a warm hug in this chilly weather.

Now time for some desserts…

Since we couldn’t decide whether we should gorge on Ayesha's Gulab Jaman Donuts or Sidra's Pan Kheer, hence we tried both! The crowd was truly blown away by the mouthwatering creations to such an extent that all the dishes were sold out by day three.

It’s impressive how Shan Foods is promoting local chefs and is giving them the podium to achieve their dreams. While most brands are always on the prowl to make money, Shan Foods didn’t take any percentage of the winner’s earnings. We were in absolute awe by Shan Foods selfless gesture to support and empower local Pakistani talent.

For decades, Shan Foods has built a legacy of providing the best of everything, masalas, desserts and now, even entertainment. The trust factor makes them not only ‘Real’ but it has also made its way to become an essential part of every Pakistani household’s food scene.
