Asad Umar holds meeting with SIDCL, KRC officials

KARACHI: Pakistan Railway, Karachi Port Trust and the Ministry of Planning are to jointly form a proposal about a freight corridor, the Northern Bypass and Lyari Expressway by the end of January.

This was revealed during a meeting held at the Governor House on Monday to review the progress of ongoing developmental projects in Sindh, especially in Karachi, under Sindh Infrastructure Development Company Limited (SIDCL) and Karachi Restoration Committee. The meeting was jointly chaired by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, federal planning minister Asad Umar and federal naval affairs minister Ali Zaidi.

SIDCL officials briefed the meeting about the progress of the Green Line Project and the purchase of fire tenders. The installation of RO plants in the province, the extension of Lyari Expressway and other developmental schemes were also discussed.
