Meat Matters: 137 butchers booked in 2 weeks

Special campaign was launched against butchers selling dog and donkey meat as well as that of other banned animals.

FAISALABAD: The district administration has arrested 137 butchers, involved in selling unhygienic, substandard and watered meat in the city.

District Livestock Officer Dr Abdur Rehman told reporters that a number of inspection teams had been constituted to ensure the supply of standardised and healthy meat to customers. Rehman said that a special campaign was launched against butchers selling dog and donkey meat as well as that of other banned animals.
