LAHORE: The Punjab Traffic Police Department has failed to overcome the traffic problems in the Saddar division. Reportedly, hundreds of vehicles get stuck in traffic jams which results in the suffering of commuters.

Professionals, students, emergency service workers and other commuters in Kot Lakhpat, Nishtar Colony, Kahina, Raiwind Road, Ichhra, Multan Road, Ferozepur Road, Naseerabad, Gulberg, Township, Wahdat Road, Thokar Niaz Baig and other areas are forced to stay on the road for hours though the distance can be covered in minutes in the absence of traffic congestion.

Doctors’ protests cause traffic jam in city

Traffic in these areas has become susceptible to jams which have led to an increase in traffic problems. This can be attributed to the inefficiency of the staff overseeing the areas. Owing to the increasing frequency of traffic congestions, competent traffic personnel must be deployed to inhibit the traffic woes caused by encroachments and basic level staff corruption.

Despite clear orders by the Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Liaquat Ali Malik and various measures taken to relieve the city from this issue, traffic congestion continues to plague the metropolitan.
