Website Launch: Radio Pakistan bolsters its online presence

Radio Pakistan’s new website is socially aware with links to Youtube, Twitter and Facebook and is accessible in both Urdu and English.


The website, accessible at www.radio.gov.pk, will provide news, text and audio bulletins and services for mobile phones. For the first time‚ Radio Pakistan will allow the streaming of different programmes. The website also provides links to FM101‚ FM93 ‚ NBS‚ PLANET 94‚ FM93 streams.

It was launched in a live programme by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Asiq Awan, Syed Mehdi Shah, Chief Minister G-B and Murtaza Solungi, Director General Radio Pakistan.

Awan said Radio Pakistan is keeping up with the latest trends in information technology. The minister praised Radio Pakistan’s employees for their work and informed them that a housing society is being launched for them. The minister said that out of a total of 1,956 plots in the housing society, 26 would be allotted to officers, 580 to retired employees and 70 to dead employees.
