Less than a week ago, Netflix finally put fans out of their misery and dropped the second season of its hit stalker-thriller, You.

While there are no scandalous spoilers, it is now confirmed that serial-killer and sociopath favourite Joe Goldberg will be back for a third season!

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gossip Girl star and lead of the show Penn Badgley accidentally revealed that the audience will be seeing more of his contemplative murderer in the future.

The first season of the series, developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, premiered on Netflix in December 2018, and the second season released last week.

Badgely accidentally let it slip that season 3 was pretty much a done deal. When quizzed on the character development of his most recent love interest, Love Quinn, Badgley said, "Dare I say, I think in the third season..." before cutting himself off and stating, "I literally know nothing about the third season."

'You' season 2 will be creepier than before

The star continued to discuss the topic of Love, who is played by played by Haunting of Hill House actor Victoria Pedretti. “She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of person. She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of predator," Badgely said.

When the host of the show asked Badgely again about the third season, the star replied, while nodding his head, “Technically I can’t… I mean, like, unofficially?”

Earlier in the year, You executive producer Sera Gamble revealed she already has plans in mind for the next part of Joe's story, although she did not discuss any details.

"Absolutely it could come back for Season 3... First of all, it's up to the powers that be. We hope that a lot of people will watch the show and that it gets to continue," Gamble said in an interview with Cosmopolitan UK.

She continued, "I will say that we have an idea for season three that is SO exciting that people talk about it in the [writer's] room everyday. So my fingers are crossed... I'll just say, I hope we get the chance to keep making the show."

You also features James Scully, Jenna Ortega and Ambyr Childers.
