Netflix's recent binge-worthy psychological thriller starring Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley as the creepy character Joe Goldberg is set to return to the screen.

Just when we thought Goldberg couldn't get any worse after the disturbing events of season one, the upcoming episodes will follow him as he moves to Los Angeles, reported People.

The storyline follows the bookstore manager as he obsesses over customer Guinevere Beck. The first installment gave most of us shivers as Joe continued his unhealthy fascination with Beck by monitoring her movements in person and via her social media platforms.

Netflix's thriller 'You' is officially returning with a second season

The Haunting of Hill House‘s Victoria Pedretti has signed on to play Goldberg’s latest victim love interest. The two meet and quickly bond over the fact that they are both grieving a recent loss.

If fans thought the previous season was creepy enough, You showrunner Sera Gamble warns that the upcoming one will be gorier than the first. “At least one scene comes to mind that’s gorier and scarier than anything we had in season one," she said.

"It’s also beautifully shot and the director who shot the second episode lavished a lot of love. Joe is forced to do something he really doesn’t want to do."

Even Badgley teased a new level of gore. “There are some things I’ve done with prosthetic bodies in this [new] season that were kind of nauseating as I did them, I will say that,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

There is no official release date for season two as of yet but it is expected to air in 2020.
