KARACHI: Two minor children went missing from different areas of the metropolis this week, with their families suspecting that they have been kidnapped.

Pakistan Bazar police registered a case of kidnapping after 12-year-old Adeeba, daughter of Shamsuddin, went missing in Orangi Town. The case was registered by the girl's mother, Kubra Khatoon, against her neighbours. According to Kubra, Adeeba left home for her madrassa on Tuesday. She suspected that a family who had recently moved to their neighbourhood was responsible for her daughter's disappearance. The police said that two women nominated in the case have been arrested, while raids are being carried out to find the other suspects.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Naveen, 10, went missing from Mehmoodabad on Friday. His father, Amir Shahzad, told The Express Tribune that the boy disappeared after Jummah prayers. "We have contacted all our relatives and friends, and announcements have also been made from different mosques, but we still have no clue where my son has gone," he said. In an application submitted at Mehmoodabad police station, Shehzad nominated a suspect, Wali, who he believed was involved in the kidnapping of his son.
