RPO announces weekly day-off for cops

The letter stated that policemen in these cadres will be entitled to a weekly holiday and a mandatory rest night

RAWALPINDI: In a bid to make the police more efficient, the Rawalpindi police have decided to offer officers from constable to the sub-inspector rank one weekly off apart from a one-night mandatory rest.

In this regard, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Habib Tajik has written to the Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) and the District Police Officers (DPOs) of Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum.

The letter stated that policemen in these cadres will be entitled to a weekly holiday and a mandatory rest night.

SHOs have been instructed to devise a schedule for personnel serving in their respective precincts after consulting with the relevant SPs and SDPOs. The schedules will be displayed on the notice boards of each police station.
