Road tragedy: 10 of a family killed in Khanewal

KABIRWALA: At least 10 members of family were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a passenger van in the Kabirwala tehsil of Khanewal district on Sunday.

The dead included a woman who going to catch a flight for Saudi Arabia where she intended to perform Umrah.

The accident took place on the Chawanwala bridge in the Kabirwala area when a recklessly drive truck bumped into a passenger van.

The van was carrying 10 members of a same family who were going to the Multan airport to see off Dhulan Mai, an elderly woman from Syedaanwala area, who was proceeding to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

All people on board the van, including Dhulan Mai, were killed – seven of them on the spot and three at Multan’s Nishtar Hospital.
