Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Bushan Kapoor were trolled on Twitter by Pakistani users following the announcement of their next feature film. The film is based on the Indian government's claim about 2019 Balakot Airstrikes which Pakistan has denied, and features Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman as main character.

Immediately after Bushan Kapoor broke the news, DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor described the film as a 'sham strike'. " With due respect to WC Abhinandan as a soldier, yes the dream could only be fulfilled through Bollywood. Denial of sham strike on 26 Feb and wreckage of 2 IAF jets shot by PAF on 27 Feb will haunt you despite that. Film on Balakot airstrike and Abhinandan" he said on Twitter.

Certain Twitter users from India also criticised the venture for it fueling state propaganda.
Doesnt matter who stars. Has to be visually stunning with emphatic cinematography on par with Hollywood productions, else you aint got my money.

The biggest stars of this story(mission) will be the combat jets anyway.
Before filming such stories, pls make sure, you are not provoking peoples of either side, Be very sensitive while showing such issues.. I personally never appreciate these topics for Movies, and request government to not approve these kind of instance for movies.
