Transitions: PPP stalwart Kazi Abdul Qadir dies

His soyem will be held in Shikarpur on Tuesday.

KARACHI: Kazi Abdul Qadir, a close ally of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and a founding member of the Pakistan Peoples Party, passed away after a long illness on Sunday.

He was born in 1928.

He served as a chairman of the Sindh Public Service Commission, the president of the PPP in Shikarpur for 15 years and was the chief organiser of the party in 1988.

He also served as the political secretary of Mumtaz Bhutto in 1973, according to the family.

His soyem will be held in Shikarpur on Tuesday.
