K-P CM orders early completion of Kohat development projects

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Saturday directed rapid completion of the on-going development projects in the Kohat district.

All the on-going developmental projects especially the schemes related to road communication, higher education institutions and other basic facilities for Kohat would be completed on priority. Gumbat area of Kohat district would get status of tehsil soon for which a summary had already been approved that would also be tabled in the upcoming meeting of PDWP.

CM Mahmood made these assurances during a meeting with the representative delegation of Kohat district led by Minister for State Shehryar Khan Afridi who called on him at Chief Minister House Peshawar. The meeting was also attended by Senator Shibli Faraz, Ex Law Minister Imtiaz Shahid Querashi, members of the Provincial Assembly from Kohat district, SMBR, Kohat deputy commissioner, administrative secretaries of departments concerned and other higher authorities.

Chief Minister Mahmood directed the quarters concerned to release the proposed funds for the widening of the main bazar of Kohat district.

The CM was briefed about the progress made so far on developmental projects and other issues being faced by general public in Kohat district including widening of road in order to overcome the issue of vehicular traffic in main Bazar of Kohat for which Rs60 million has already been approved for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of shops which are going to be affected.

The CM was also briefed about the establishment of campuses of UET and Comsat University along with establishment of State Life Building. Mahmood directed Kohat DC to identify land for these projects so that the construction work could be started without any delay.
