RCCI acting president says there is a need to strengthen monitoring system on the borders to prevent smuggling

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has expressed its deep concern over business centres being raided in the city, calling for a halt to the actions by customs officials under the pretext of anti-smuggling actions.
“There is a need to strengthen monitoring system on the borders to prevent smuggling,” said RCCI Acting President Nosherwan Khalil Khan in a statement on Friday, adding that that raids on business centres spreads a negative message in the market.
he urged Customs and other relevant departments to first issue a notice to offending traders before initiating action.
