FAISALABAD: Divisional commissioner Tahir Hussain has ordered that an effective mechanism to monitor the prices of daily use items be in place during the month of Ramzan. Hussain said that hoarders and profiteers would be dealt with swiftly and said that all shopkeepers who did not place a daily items price list in their stores would be fined. Hussain also ordered that a daily Ramzan bazaar be held and said that the implementation of a Ramzan package should be finalized during the first week of the holy month. “Every year there is a price hike seen during the month of Ramzan. This practice needs to be curbed and now we have to make sure that there are fixed price lists at all stores,” Hussain said. The commissioner directed that an effective green channel system be activated for supplying fruits and vegetables directly to the Ramzan bazaar.
