In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old DJ was shot dead in India at a pre-wedding party after he refused to play music post-midnight while abiding by the orders from administration — for not playing music after 10pm, Indian Express reported on Thursday.
Karan Singh, the victim, accompanied his paternal cousin named Gursewak Singh and his uncle to a pre-marriage party at Nirvair Singh’s residence in Maste Wala Village, Punjab to deliver their DJ services on Saturday.
“The party started at 7pm and continued till midnight. However, at 10pm we stopped playing music as it was against the administration orders,” Gursewak told police.
It was then when five accused including groom’s father fired in the air to threaten them [Gursewak and his family] after they busted in outrage.

“At midnight we finally refused to continue and the accused Sukhdeep Singh allegedly opened fire with his 12-bore rifle. The bullet hit Karan Singh on the right side of his chest which caused his death,” he added.
The 20-year-old further told police that the accused fled from the scene immediately while Singh was rushed to Civil Hospital Moga where he was later declared dead on arrival.
A case is registered against the five aspects. However, one of the accused was arrested and a weapon was recovered from his possession on December 2. Two others have also been taken into custody.
Meanwhile, police raids are being conducted to arrest the other two suspects.
Moreover, the victim’s family earlier on Sunday had refused to let an autopsy take place until all arrests were made.
