QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that his government is willing to talk to the federal government for the rights of the province on the basis of equality.

The chief minister was speaking to journalists during the inauguration ceremony of Siddique Baloch Media Academy at Quetta Press Club.

CM Kamal said that he had told a federal committee, which had come to Quetta from Islamabad that before any negotiations Balochistan would have its share in the extension of Sui Gas, Saindak copper gold project and land for oil refinery in the coastal belt.

He said that a few days back he had met a team of Saindak project and asked them for a complete proposal, including increasing the share of the Balochistan government before giving the project extension.

“We will not repeat the mistakes of the past government. Our top priority is to give utmost attention to Balochistan,” he maintained.

“Now Balochistan’s decisions will be made in the best interest of the people and we will not be part of any deal,” he added.

He further said if a change comes in Balochistan government, it will be brought by political forces.

“For the first time, we are equally carrying out development work in all the constituencies of the province,” he noted.

The chief minister was accompanied by Balochistan Health Minister Naseebullah Marri, Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi and Home Minister Zia Langove.

Levies Force

Kamal on Thursday said that the incumbent government is taking all possible measures to uplift the capacity of Levies force in handling crimes.

“Unfortunately previous regimes didn’t take any step to strengthen the capacity of Levis Force in maintaining law and order in major parts of the province,” lamented Kamal while inaugurating Levis Force Directorate in Quetta.

Provincial ministers Mir Zia Langove, Naseebullah Marri, Zahoor Buledi, Abdul Khaliq Hazara and DG Levies Mujeebur Rehman Qumbrani were also present on the occasion.

CM Balochistan expressed satisfaction over the performance of Levis Force in Balochistan and added that people in remote parts of the province trust the force.

“Our government has been utilising all resources to enhance capabilities as funds for the force have also been increased,” Kamal said.
