Hamza Ali Abbasi Quits Showbiz For Islam



Hamza Ali Abbasi returned to social media to make his important statement about quitting showbiz for Islam. In a 23 minute video titled “Atheism to Islam”, Abbasi explained his various reasons for leaving acting and added that his decision is based on 10-year long research. In the video that went viral on social media, the actor said that he would spend the rest of his life in accordance with Islam. “I will make films and dramas to give the message of God”, he said, adding that there will be no “inappropriate elements” in them. Hamza also mentioned politics, claiming it to be an important part in a person’s life but clarifying that he won’t take part in electoral politics because that demands lying and being corrupt since it’s all a popularity game.

Mira Sethi Ties The Knot



Mira Sethi who announced her engagement last year in November, got married to her childhood family friend, Bilal A Siddiqi. The couple had a wedding ceremony in San Francisco two weeks ago. The nikkah, mehndi and the wedding reception were held in Lahore. Mira wore a traditional gharara by Kamiar Rokni who used Mira grandmother’s rich woven silk fabric for the ensemble.  For the very first time, Kamiar designed a groom’s sherwani for Mira’s husband, Bilal.  The actor took to Instagram to share her personal photos from the ceremonies.  “I did my own make-up, scooped my hair into a ponytail, and married the love of my life. Two weeks before the wedding, at Burning Man, I painted love of life’s nails while love of life was asleep. Love of life woke up, looked at hand, smiled, and went on with his day. Two weeks later he strolled into wedding venue with these nails. I love him, and here are some photos of this crazily delightful day,” Mira wrote in her post.

Pakistan Successfully Conducts Test Launch Of Ballistic Missile



Pakistan conducted a successful test launch of a surface-to-surface ballistic missile capable of delivering all types of warheads up to 650 kilometers.  According to a press release issued by the media wing Of Pakistan military, the launch of Shaheen-I missile was held as part of training exercise. “aimed at testing the operational readiness of Army Strategic Force Command”.

Lata Mangeshkar Is Keeping Well



Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after she complained of difficulty in breathing on November 11. After staying in the hospital for a few days, she returned home and is now stable. Lata’s family requested to not spread “needless rumours” about her illness. An official spokesperson for Lata told media, “Dear friends, we are as happy as you are to inform you that with all your prayers and best wishes, Lata didi is doing much better. Thank you for being there. God is great.” In her over seven-decade long career, Lata is considered one of the greatest playback singers of Indian cinema and has sung more than 30,000 songs across multiple languages.

Seasame Street To Help Syrian Refugees



The Sesame workshop and International Rescue Committee have won a $100 m grant to help with the “toxic stress” on child refugees. Jeffrey Dunn, head of Sesame workshop, said Syrian refugee crisis was the “humanitarian issue of our time. It will help children in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria. This may be our most important initiate ever”. The workshop will produce a customised version of Sesame Street for the young Syrian refugee, available on mobile phones, which will support literacy and numeracy, help to teach about relationships and encourage respect for others. The popular show is also being produced in Arabic language.

Jennifer Aniston Returns In A Masterwork For The #Metoo Era



Jennifer Aniston returns to television after her hit show, Friends that ended more than a decade ago. The Morning Show is a slick venture from Apple TV that includes powerhouse performances by Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell along with Aniston. Jennifer plays Alex Levy, the co anchor of a morning talk show whose life is thrown into disarray when her co-presenter Mitch played by Steve Carrel is accused of sexual misconduct and fired.
