PM chairs high-powered selection board huddle today

Twenty two (22) officers will be promoted to vacant grade-22 positions in the Pakistan Administrative Service

ISLAMABAD: A high powered selection board, headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan, will be held on Saturday (today) to discuss and approve promotion of senior civil servants to grade-22.

Twenty two (22) officers will be promoted to vacant grade-22 positions in the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan, Audit and Accounts Service, Information Group and Foreign Service of Pakistan. According to sources, the board will also approve a large number of transfers.

With the approval of the prime minister, three more grade-22 posts have been created in the Police Service of Pakistan. The positions of Inspector General Railways, Frontier Constabulary Commandant and the National Police Bureau managing director have been upgraded to grade-22.

There are a total of eleven (11) grade-22 vacancies in the Pakistan Administrative Service, five vacancies in the Police Service of Pakistan, three in the Foreign Service of Pakistan, two in Audit and Account Service and one vacancy in Information Group.

The Postal Group and the Railways Group have one grade-22 vacancy each, but promotions to these posts will not be discussed due to absence of any eligible officer.

Grade-22 positions at the Pakistan Customs Service, Inland Revenue, Commerce and Trade Group, Economist Group and Military Land Cantonment Group are not vacant and will not be discussed.
