KARACHI:

The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Pakistan Task Team (PTT) is set to visit the country but the details, including the timing and nature of the trip, are yet to be finalised.

The PTT’s report on Pakistan cricket was criticised by the country’s cricket board, particularly because of the timing of its submission and the fact that a solitary member of the team had visited the country prior to submitting the report.

That criticism has not been welcomed by the ICC, which insisted the trip is not a consequence of that. It is, however, unclear who will visit and when. Reports suggest that ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat will be part of the delegation.

Moreover, the agenda of the trip is also not known. However, it is believed discussions will take place on the broadest recommendations of the report—the politicised nature of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) governance will form part of it. The PCB will also be keen to discuss security matters and the return of international cricket.
