Social reconstruction centre opens at AIOU

President Alvi says centre aims to promote a society of peace and tolerance

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday inaugurated the Centre of Social Reconstruction at the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), hoping that it will help popularise the national narrative of ‘Hum Pakistani’ amongst the new generation.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, he said the centre aims to provide an academic environment to students for the social development of society and to inculcate the youth with moral values.

He appreciated AIOU for its effective role in highlighting the narrative of ‘Hum Pakistani’.

“The centre could be an important step forward in this direction,” he added.

The president highlighted the important role of educational institutions in promoting the spirit of patriotism and loyalty amongst the youth. He said he was glad that AIOU has taken an encouraging step in this direction.

Dr Alvi further said that he saw a strong a prosperous Pakistan in the years to come.

Recently, the country’s image abroad has been improving and there was the hope of a better future, as the country has successfully combated terrorism and the government set its direction on the right path, added the president.
