QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal on Monday said the role of the province is important in the overall economic development of Pakistan.

“It is high time we invest in Balochistan because its role in the development of the country is crucial,” stressed Kamal while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Livestock Expo 2019.

Kamal said the province’s first ever Livestock Expo will increase the confidence of the investors and will promote a positive image of Balochistan nationally and globally.

“The economic prosperity of Balochistan as a whole will improve with this initiative,” he affirmed.

Citing the importance of the livestock sector, the CM said its improvement is essential to meeting the growing demands of halal meat in the international market.

“The livestock sector was unfortunately never seen as an industry but the provincial government has made significant progress by organising this expo,” Kamal maintained. “A large part of Balochistan’s population is associated with the livestock sector and it is a pleasure to be working in an area that is directly related to a common man of the province.”

Kamal said such events will boost the investment as the province’s prosperity is greatly linked with the overall development of the country while emphasising on the utilisation of Balochistan’s natural resources, terming it the need of the hour.

The Chief Minister also paid tribute to the civil and military institutions, lauding their services in restoring law and order and investment in the province, making it possible to hold the first Livestock Expo.

“Nations move forward when they have a spirit of sacrifice,” said Kamal while underscoring that the law and order situation in the province is much better compared to the past as investors and multinational companies were interested in coming to Balochistan.

He added that the incumbent provincial government is improving governance as a whole to manage all business affairs in a timely manner by providing a proper business environment and introducing reforms to enhance the efficiency of the departments.

“Policies are being brought in to achieve the desired results,” reiterated the Chief Minister as he insinuated that such expos will be conducted for the progress of other sectors including tourism, agriculture and minerals.

Later, Kamal with the special guest on the occasion President Dr Arif Alvi, and Balochistan Governor Amanullah Yasinzai, visited different stalls on the occasion. Chief Minister also presented a souvenir to the President.
