Sohail Ayaz was accused in case filed at the Rawat police station for kidnapping a 12-year old green tea seller from a street in the capital and rapping him multiple times in confinement at his home.
Investigation officer of the case had asked the court to give police custody of the suspect for 10 days so that they could thoroughly interrogate him.
However, Special Judicial Magistrate Syed Qamar Abbas approved only five-day remand and to present the suspect again on November 18 after completing the investigation.
Further, the police have seized suspect’s laptop which has a huge database of hundreds of porn videos and obscene photos of children.
However, the assertions that the suspect’s family had disowned him due to his activities proved wrong when his father attended the hearing.
Talking to the media outside the courtroom, Sohail’s father said he never disowned his son and he would personally pursue the case.
Meanwhile, the police have started consultation over whether the case should be transferred to Cybercrime Wing FIA.
