Processions

The occasion will witness the emergence of various processions in the city today.

The main procession, organised by Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ), will emerge from the New Memon Masjid in Bolton Market, at around 3 pm. It will be led by Allama Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, Dr Haji Hanif Tayyab, Maulana Abrar Rehmani, Allama Muzaffar Hussain Shah and other religious scholars and will culminate at Nishtar Park. However, instead of passing through MA Jinnah Road, the track for which has been blocked from Capri Cinema to Numaish Chowrangi due to the ongoing construction work of Green Line Bus Project, the procession will reach Nishtar Park by taking a detour to the road leading to Soldier Bazaar.

At Nishtar Park, religious scholars will address the participants of the procession. The procession’s partakers will offer Asr and Maghrib prayer at the park, following which, special prayers for the security and prosperity of Muslims around the world and Pakistan, as well as for the independence of Kashmir will be made.

Besides the main procession, several small processions have also been planned, which will emerge from 40 different areas of the city and will join the main procession at Nishtar Park.

Keeping in view the arrangements for the day, ASWJ has demanded of K-Electric to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the venues of processions and programmes held in relevance to Eid Miladun Nabi.

The citizens of Hyderabad will also celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi by participating in 42 major rallies and various congregations. According to a police spokesperson, 3,000 officials have been deployed across the city to ensure the security of the participants of the rallies. Of the 3,000 officials, 2,000 have been assigned the responsibility to ensure the security of the main procession in Hyderabad, organised by Sunni Tehreek, Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan and Muhammadi Mosque Bohri Jamaat Khana.
